After Bausch&Lomb's Renu Moisture Loc, AMO's Complete Moisture Plus Multipurpose Solution was recentely voluntarily recalled from the market, due to an association with rare cases of acanthamoeba keratitis. Acanthamoeba keratitis is a rare but devastating corneal infection which has affected mostly contact lens wearers.

INTRALASE WAVEFRONT LASIK FOR US AVIATORS |
|
|
US aviators will from now on be candidates for LASIK, not only PRK and LASEK. The combination of Intralase with a wavefront-guided excimer laser treatment is deemed safe for US Air Force and NASA aviators. Intralase provides for a bladeless way to create a flap with a laser. The flap is thought to be smoother and more firmly attached to the underlying cornea. The customized wavefront-guided approach with iris registration aims to reduce flaws of the cornea, further improve acuity and reduce night vision disturbances which occasionally accompany a standard LASIK treatment. THIS VERY COMBINATION OF INTRALASE WITH WAVEFRONT-GUIDED LASER VISION CORRECTION WITH IRIS REGISTRATION IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR OUR GREEK PATIENTS. We have been using both technologies since early 2006 in our practice in the UK. |
